The pole was already down and laying in the road when the car came up and drove into it. The pole punctured the car above the passenger tire and punched through as the car drove forward.
That said, why isn’t there blood all over the driver’s seat? It appears that it would have impaled the driver.
Even the glass on the street from the broken rear window is thrown forward of the car and is consistent with the rest of the accident.
The impact would have thrown the driver forward in his seat. Even restrained by a seatbelt, it would have been enough for the pole to miss him – just. If the driver had been impaled there wouldn’ just be a lot of blood there – the driver would still be there – they would have had to cut the pole to get the body free. The absence of blood would tend to indicate that the driver’s body was too far forward to have been impaled. Lucky bugger.
I cant see it completely ‘impaling’ the driver but maybe taking a large chunk out of his/her right side, assuming that is that the driver was completely back in his/her seat, depending on speed I could easily see the driver being thrown forward enough to miss the pole.
I am sure the driver is safe… Notice the entry point of the pole in drivers seat… it is almost on the extreme right…which must have only propped the driver forward…besides the impact push to the front.. dont worry alls well!!! let the insurance companies worry
the driver was in fact too far back, the pole passed over his knees and infront of his pelvis as you can see in one of the photos. the driver was unharmed, until a firman, stuggling to get him free of the pole accidently elbowed him in the face causing a boken nose. How ridiculous lol
even though it appears that the driver was not strapped in by a seatbelt, i believe he must have been. the front windshield shows no sign of impact, the airbag is intact, so the man would’ve been thrown forward, assuming that he hit the pole with quite a bit of force. i think he’d have to at least be going 35 miles per hour to create enough…

Looking at the cushion looks like he or she may have pooped on impact.
Wouldn’t you have?

Sweet Jebus!
It appears to me, that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.

fuuuuuuuuck that looks crazy.
Why are you assuming that the driver was a man….c’mon look at that mess. Clearly the work of the fairer sex.
yep, must be a woman
I like the way at the bottom it says ‘Related posts’ with a picture of a nearby post above it. Is it his brother?
