A couple of desktops were stolen from the office in Vancouver. One of them was iMac with Flickrbooth application installed. Flickrbooth, as some you may know, allows you to automatically upload photos to your Flickr account. As a result, the new iMac ‘owner’ sent his photos to Flickr. Now his face and tatoos is known not only to the police, but also to the half of the Internet.

Anybody can upload their photos to flickr. This article doesn’t explain how “his” flickr account could be traced back to that specifically stolen iMac. Also, it could be the unaware purchaser of said stolen computer who you are referring to. My point is, there’s just not enough information here to conclude anything.
