Isn’t it more suitable, instead of daydreaming about how brilliant the world (through this western perspective) is, to realize that it is being destroyed by us and act upon that? Although a nice collection of photos, I think that more and more people get whisked away by daily life and problems and don’t ask nor demand of the ruling few to even acknowledge, never mind try to solve the problems that the wretched homo sapiens has created.

I’m done. I hope to, in time, be able to say that I will give a better world to my unborn, immediate successors.

In reply to latest poster. After 911, they disallowed the song What a Wonderful World to be boradcasted on radio.
But it’s more a call for beauty and appreciation. It is one way to “act upon that” destruction.

    b;aj -

    1) im assuming youre referring to global warming. ITS NOT F****NG REAL!! DO YOUR RESEARCH SO YOU KNOW WHAT REAL ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES WE ACTUALLY FACE!!!!!!!! now if youre referring to one of these real issues, disregard above statement. but i doubt you are.

    2) so do you expect us to be miserable 24/7 worrying about some unproven theory used for no other reason than to gain political power/money/publicity/etc? thats pretty pathetic. go outside. enjoy yourself a little. stop feeling the need to be all bitchy and preachy on the internet.

@b;aj: What good is saving the world if you’re not going to appreciate it? And besides that, we really don’t need to worry about such things anyway. A planet is just another resource, a piece of property, if you think about it. We should use it while we have the chance, since not even the Earth is permanent.

Wow, all of these people that are bashing b;aj are such hippocrites…

I personally have been to 20 European nations and also 25 of the United States of America, so don’t tell me I haven’t been around to see the wonderful world, or “not been outside enough.”

So you all want to have your cake and eat it too? Wow, you all need reality to come and backhand you so hard that you realize how fucked up our world is getting. I can’t even tell you how many times I have seen this: someone leaving their mess behind for someone else to pick it up. So our kids will pick up all the trash we left behind in our generation, right? Wow, what an awesome world to live in…

When has it been a good idea to enjoy one’s “property” and also poorly maintain it?
Have you ever thought of appreciating what you have and also putting in the effort to maintain it?

Especially you, styyl. So the Earth is just like a disposable camera for the human race to enjoy until it runs out of film? You, of all, need that reality smack.

B;aj is pathetic? You all are pathetic. YOU all should go outside and really search for where things are bad. Go to the middle of the Pacific, guess what you’ll find? A gigantic man-made island of plastic trash… and that is just a start of all the shit we’ve left behind for newer generations to pick up.

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They’re really saying I love you.

I hear babies crying, I watch them grow
They’ll learn much more than I’ll never know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world.

By the way, beautiful pictures you have here.

Gorgeous collection of pictures but the only problem I have is the picture of the “moon” and “start” islands. That star is photoshopped in. I have been to that crescent island to snorkel, it is location is in Hawaii.
    The island is called Molokini.

    Sorry thats my only quarrel.

    To whoever posted these pictures:
They are beautiful. Thank you for putting them out there to be seen. I’m sorry everyone else made it an awful argument. When this should be about the beauty of what has been shown. We should celebrate nature. It’s posts like this, that help people realize we need to take care of what’s around us. Great Post!!!

You and Joe should get together… just get sterilized first. Why do you assume that thepeople who appreciate these pictures do nothing to improve upon the world? Quit being self righteous assholes! The pictures are beautiful!

b;aj, Plastic People, Oh baby now, your such a drag. It’s not Armstrong but the shoe fits. There’s no global warming. It’s a political ploy to take away your freedom and liberty. I would rather have a messy Earth than my freedoms taken away. I see a Earth that is beautiful. The most disgusting thing are the people who run the government. And Obama isn’t any better. Actually he’ll be worse because of his Marxist views. But back to the pictures. Some of those were shopped. Not much reality in that. But I look at the world and see the good, I’m sorry that your attitude won’t allow that. Plastic People . . .

very beautiful pics. Felt like I was immersed in a fairy tale. And b;aj needs to STFU. There being problems in the world doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate what beauty is there. If anything, appreciating the beauty of it is what will make people care more for the environment, not bi-tching around on the internet all day about how everybody sucks.

I too am sorry some people made the photos a politically charged conversation what with consiracy theories and threats. I have to agree with Rob, these pictures are a wonderful reminder that there is a beautiful world WORTH saving. Seeing these peaceful scenes of our world was a great break from the hum-drum, everyone-fighting-everbody-else days of our lives. Thank you.

What a wonderfull world indeed, looking through these pictures (some obviously photoshopped) but the real ones are breathtaking, makes me sad to think of what everyone is doing to such a beautiful planet, i wish sum1 could make a eco-friendly law

how many people would u know that would moan if re-cycling was a law
as it is in other countries

what we need is sir david attenborough, if he can make the world see what a beautiful place this is. and to respect what needs to be respected as he did to me i would gladly give him 20 years of my life so he could keep going

There are still beautiful things in the world. It’s important to sit back take those things in every once in a while, instead of dwelling on all the things that are wrong with the world all the time. Yes, it’s a very ugly place generally but there are still rainbows in the sky. :)

I am wondering, did you get these pictures from the myspace app “Daily Trip”? I have seen all of these on that. Very beautiful pictures rguardless of where they came from.

P.S. I also don’t believe in “man made” global warming (at least not to the extent the media such make it out to be). Perhaps, the creator of the world knows what the heck he is doing! I mean if the world/universe was CREATED……… wouldn’t they know more about it than we would?? Think about it people…. use the brain GOD gave you! ;) Have a nice day!

Kinda eerie that we’ve reached this point, but, one of those pictures is 100% a digital art creation. Did anyone even spot it?

I’m not shouting, “Photoshopped.” The picture of the midnight dock with the shooting star and the couple in the left bottom corner… that picture is NOT a photograph. The couple are 3D models, and the rest was also digitally painted.

I used to feel very apathetic toward the destruction of the earth. Well, I did care, in the back of my mind. Then, last month, I had two brain surgeries which caused me to have strange dreams. In them I saw the whole world filled with filth and trash dating back from the ’70s and ’80s and planes crashing and just junk and oil spills and nastiness. Those were horrible nightmares, right out of the blue!

I used to love nature and go hiking and camping and took it all for granted. Now I use a walker and feel helpless, even though I’m not even 30 yet. I hope those of you who are of sound body can do something about the destruction. I will still continue to try to enjoy what is left, and the time I have left.

Nothing like a series of beautiful pictures to make you think about how fu**ed up the world is? Since when does beauty evoke negative emotion? You’re retarded man. Retarded.

You must be some crochety old curmudgeon who hates life so much that the sight of something beautiful makes you want to destroy it.

My God, how I truly love the internet. It never ceases to amaze me how anonymity puts strength in people. Here someone states their opinion, then someone else degrades is in a semi-eloquent manner, not taking into account the importance of what was said. Well, I guess it’s my turn to state my opinion. Yes, the pictures are lovely and knowing that these places exist on our planet is even lovelier, but as these so-called “Debbie Downer’s” said, those places are not going to be here for long. Nothing is wrong with a person that thinks that way upon seeing these photos, something is very right with them. Happiness is a luxury that is achieved through ignorance. How long can we stick our heads in the sand, cover our ears and shut our eyes to what is going on around us? Eventually, you are going to have to hear that the world is disintegrating about you. It is not being pessimistic, it is being realistic. Just because you don’t want to hear something doesn’t make it negative. This far into the game, we can afford to pick and choose between the positive and negative facts. So instead of debasing a person because they are not blindly saying “Wow, what fantastic photos”, how about we applaud them for having more than a two-step process in their thinking. Now that we know what is going on, how about we do something, no matter how small, about it? …Well, with that said, I will agree again, positively astounding photos.

Absolutely fantastic photography. The quality of light and the colours are brilliant. I love the cherry blossom on the first photograph, it reminds me when I was lucky enough to go to Japan over 15 years ago.
