The Real “Simpsons” Home

An old post but might be interesting to those who’ve missed it for some reason. The real “Simpsons” home is located in Henderson, Nevada. Simpsons contest winner was awarded the house in 1997. Matt Groening signed his name and drew a picture of Bart in the sidewalk square in front of the house. That is the only Simpsons-related part of the house now after it was ‘desimpsonified” by the new owner of the house.

That’s not very like the Simpsons house. The windows are wrong, the garage extends too long, and there is no room above the garage.

your’e being way too specific, people can’t always get it correct down to the last detail. So two windows are missing and the garage is a bit too long. That just means its not COMPLETELY correct, it still looks exactly like the simpsons house.

Yes i agree. Its a cartoon they cant do everything exactly the same. There are some limitations because its a real world version. Dude have you heard of physics. The garage needs to be longer because some cars are longer in real life than in the simpsons. Maybe the garage cant be done because it was too expensive or there was no need for an extra room since it would be impractical and a waste of time and money. and hey daniel are you doing anything this weekend.

Thank you Dan and Louis! The reason this is not a “perfect replica” like John felt he had to point out, is this was not built to be a replica to tour in some theme park, but a real house in a regular neighborhood. It is so close to the Simpson’s home it’s scary. I lived in Vegas at the time, and waited in line for three hours in the desert heat to take a tour through the place. Even the oil stain under Homers’s car had been painted in the driveway. The person who won it got rid of it all, and painted it to match the houses in the neighborhood. Such a shame. I can’t believe she did that…

I wish I had the talent to produce a good poster for the simpsons 20th anniversary contest. I love the simpsons. But at least there are others (as I see here) that share an interest still.

I wonder what it looks like today-since it mentioned the owner ‘desimspsonized’ it.

I’ve always wanted corn cob curtains-but never found any.

I’m guessing those were specially made for this house……unless someone here knows where i could get fabric like that?

Mention it here if anyone can w/a contact email plz.
