Here are some very beautiful shots of Tokyo at twilight as seen by a famous Japanese photographer Sato Shintaro. That’s what Mr. Shintaro writes on his page about these photos: “I take photographs of Tokyo townscape from emergency staircase of multi-tenant buildings and of apartment houses. Most of staircases are facing back streets, and it is interesting that the other side of Tokyo appears there. Townscape in the twilight looked from staircases, to which no one reaches as if it has slipped from everyday life, has so erotic appeal that I am fascinated by townscapes every time when I take photographs. I become aware that I do not know anything about the town in fact, although I always look at Tokyo townscape.” (Source)

Oh my God, the third pic is right on the Chuo Line going from Nakano to Kichijoji, on the right side. I see it every time I come home from Shinjuku!!!
That’s..peculiar.. it doesn’t remind me at all of the Hong Kong level in Deus Ex
thanks
Really ugly city view.
None of the houses has any distinctive cultural distinction.
No parks to speak of, no trees, all lights and concrete.
It`s obvious that there`s no city planning of any kind.
It`s just depressing to see pictures such as these.
