Since 1981, San Francisco Fleet Week has been an annual opportunity for Northern Californians to honor the men and women serving in the United States Navy, Coast Guard and Marine Corps. Here are some photos from the event.

This is not fleet week 2008 as the Canadian Destroyer in the photos is presently in a refit. just thought I would point it out, nice pics though.
I am a little surprised that they still allow this to happen there considering San Franciscos attitude toward our military.
hi…..
I just thought it was an incredible photoshoot, I am totaly into combat aircrafts and stuff like that from the navy. Just one question, the blue plane was an F15 or 18?
The blue planes would appear to be the F/A-18 Hornets, from the US Navy’s “Blue Angels” flight demonstration team.

not bad!
thanks Anthony, realy apreciate that!
MorpheousRex, what do you mean by ‘friscos attitude towards the military? I don’t understand.
Hi, Nice photo’s just one small issue. Fleet Week 2008 has not happened yet. It is starting tomorrow, Oct. 10th 2008 with the parade of ship on Saturday.
MorpheousRex, you dolt – SF has a long and proud military history. To generalize about the whole City in that way demonstrates your ignorance.
Great photos…..I could not attend this year, however, my daughter Alysha Haran will be piloting the USS Pickney into port….and no I did not teach her to drive….please if you can….take a picture for me….thank you…Adelle
Hi All,
I took these set of pictures at the 2007 SF Fleet Week show. Not sure who published it here, but they didn’t ask me about it.
If you’re interested in seeing the 2008 Fleet Week shots, they can be accessed via: http://www.bernardzee.com
Not many ships at all scheduled this year, and half of them didn’t make it for the parade of ships due to high winds outside the bay.
However, the air show was quite impressive, with 3 jet demonstration teams putting on a show. They were the Fry’s Patriot team, Canadian Snowbirds, and the Blues.
Regards,
BZ
