The picture of the man holding the cigarette – it’s actually of Clement Hurd, not Harda. He was also not an author, but an illustrator. His most famous illustration is probably that of the Margaret Wise Brown’s “Goodnight Moon”. Not trying to rain on a parade, just thought you’d like to give proper credit

in our beach house there is an old photo taken of a family and one of them was drawn in after the photo was taken as he was dead when the photo had been taken. They also used to color the pictures in to give the people more colorful features.

The explanation for the John Filo photo seems obvious… it looks like that woman is screaming because she has a pipe sticking out of her head. I agree that the Lincoln photo is not as represented here.

The beginning few ARE all done in photoshop. Photography is my trade and I can tell you that superimposing images in the darkroom was not practiced till MUCH MUCH later on in the 20th century!

If I remember well, Kate Winslet was not pleased that GQ had taken the liberty to refine her legs.
