Remember Remember the 11th of September

It has been 7 years since we witness one of the most horrific act of terrorism in our generation. Today, even as the world has moved on since that day, it is timely that we remember that fateful day, where hundreds and thousands of children lost parents and parents lost children. I hope that for all those who have suffered loss, they have managed to move on with their lives and even though the scar left behind is permanent, the pain would be more bearable now.

I think we lost the moment we let our freedoms become compromised for security :/………7 years later all we have is paranoia and Big Brother government slowly eroding the Constitution. Be careful what you say online now because THEY are watching for you own good.

That’s quite odd, paraphrasing the poem about Guy Fawkes. He tried to blow up the British parliament because it was corrupt and unjust.

Osama bin Laden sees the US as corrupt and unjust. Does this mean you agree with him? Or is it just general commentary on the disgusting nature of the US government and Wall Street and how they together caused 9/11?

Regardless of which, just as Fawkes’ actions were not unprovoked acts, neither was 9/11. Something made people become that way, and it wasn’t their own ideologies. Think of World War I and II: Hitler likely could not have risen to power if Germany hadn’t been economically and politically raped after the First World War.

wow Trimper, that is really astute observation and analysis there. wish i cld say that I meant to convey all that, but i didn’t. It was just a phrase that came to me, which I thought to be very relevant. But drawing that parallel makes a lot of sense, and it doesn’t mean that i agree with Osama (quite the contrary actually), it could just mean that there are people who look on the US as corrupt and need awakening. Not everyone will agree with Fawkes, just like not everyone agrees with Osama (the whole world I believe), but he still does it anyway. And is the country awakened? It’s up to us to decide.
