Get this baby and you will sure get the ‘OOOh’ and ‘AAAh’s from your friends. This glass keyboard is a design by Kong Fanwen and unfortunately only exists in the mind of the designer right now. The idea is to sue a small camera with motion capture capabilities to track your fingers as you type, which is actually not a new technology. There are some portable keyboards that already do that where a beam of light projects the keys on any surface and it recognizes what you type by tracking your fingers.

It is an existing technology, and the reason that it hasn’t caught on is that there’s no tactile feedback – your fingers can’t feel which keys they are pressing, and that makes it difficult to determine if you are even pressing the key or not. This makes the ’scanner’ keyboards difficult and slow to type on, even for touch-typists.
