Lip plates can be found used by tribes in Africa, South America and the Amazon. For some, the plate size is a measure of social or economic influence or status. But for others, the size is just a matter of how long the lip has been stretched. There are varied reasons for putting the plates, but suffice to say, these tribes see these ‘ornaments’ as beauty and status. Although I can never in my life understand why people will want to do this to themselves and consider it as a thing of beauty. An interesting documentary video is attached too.

Why do Western women want to cut up thier vaginas to get designer vaginas to make men happy? Why do Western women put balloons of silicone or saline in thier bodies and consider it beautiful?
Just proof that the in the whole world there are women being forced to mutilate thier bodies because men find it beautiful.
I never had seen the natives in my contry, Venezuela, using plates.
They make perforations in their noses to put pencil-like sticks, but plates, I don’t think so…
Why, if the want to be appreciated then they hurt themself.

IT DOESNT EVEN HURT DUDE iv stretched my ears a little bigger than the once shown above and its a painless procedure.. the lip disk is the same the more time u take stretching it the easier it is to go up sizes
Every person and society around the world has their own interpretation of beauty. In America, models starve themselves sometimes to death to look “beautiful.” Women in America also take needles filled with crap to make themselves seem “younger” and beautiful. American women also go through surgeries to look “beautiful.” For these women in these pictures, this is more of a tradition. No one from American should judge them especially when we have little girls in America who starve themselves to measure up to America’s take on being beautiful
Why in the world would anyone think they should be stopped? It’s just more Americans thinking everyone should be like them. It’s refreshing to see other cultures. All we need is a world where everyone is westernized.
