Tilt-Shift photography is basically the use of of camera movements on small and medium size cameras. In many cases, it refers to tilting the lens relative to the image plane and using a large aperture to achieve a very shallow depth of field. The result is a blurring of parts of the image for de-emphasis purposes and the possible effect of reducing huge objects to miniature models.
Sounds complex, but here are some very nice examples that should explain everything.

Nice collection of utterly sexy side-boob shots of models and actresses. What is it about revealing bikinis and g-strings that sometimes makes a girl more desirable than when she is naked? Who cares?

1. The chef at a hotel in Switzerland lost a finger in a meat-cutting machine and, after a little hopping around, submitted a claim to his insurance company. The company, suspecting negligence, sent out one of its men to have a look for himself. He tried the machine out and lost a finger. The chef’s claim was approved.

Not that I think that female body-builders look great when young, but they get even worse when they grow old. Call me chauvinistic, but I just feel that there are some sports that women were not meant to participate and this is one of them.

The Pirarucu is one of the largest freshwater fish in the world and can be found mainly in South America. It can grow up to a maximum length of 4.5 meters and weigh up to 220kg! Unfortunately for them, they are also pretty good for food and are thus caught frequently to be sold in the markets. Another unique thing about this fish is its ability to breathe air from the surface as it has lung-like linings in its throat. It can therefore survive extensive drought periods by gulping air and burrowing in the mud or sand of swamps. Talk about ‘Natural Selection’. In addition, the tongue of this giant is believed to possess medicinal qualities and is taken to kill intestinal worms. Though they are harmless to humans, I would be pretty freaked out if one came swimming near me!

It never ceases to amaze me how people in the creative arts industry can come up with new unique ideas and works for their portfolios. Paho Mann is a photographer that decided to capture pictures of drawers and medicine cabinets for his work. He believes that it is an expression of individuality in a society that relentlessly emphasizes on conformity.
Sounds like a pretty lame attempt at justification of his idea but whatever pleases him. Take a look.
