Not that I think that female body-builders look great when young, but they get even worse when they grow old. Call me chauvinistic, but I just feel that there are some sports that women were not meant to participate and this is one of them.

Female athletes lose estrogen. Because of the increase in testosterone, most stop menstruating and begin to grow facial hair, etc. The problem? Women need estrogen or else they get osteoporosis. [They're not like men.] Male bio-chemistry is different. So in “masculinizing,” they do massive damage to their bodies and bone-density. Ironically, these “strong women” end up as brittle-boned weaklings due to the sustained loss of estrogen.

Drooperdoo , you have no idea what you are talking about. exercise does not cause estrogen loss or osteoporosis. it causes hormone balance and stronger bones. too much exercise does not cause facial hair, but the menstration stopping can occur if a high level of activity happens because the body focuses on muscle skeletal repair and stops shedding the uterus lining since reproduction becomes a non-priority. women who strength train have a better chance of easier child birth and healthier babies.
you may be thinking of steroid abuse, but the same problems happen to men who take too much as well. me thinks you are just scared of strong women, that they might ‘break you’.

The effects you’re citing are ALL caused by steroid abuse. Not all bodybuilders abuse steroids.
Exercise, no matter how high the volume, won’t cause negative effects of the type you mention.

Not all bodybuilders use steroids. Natural bodybuilders don’t, and the women look very beautiful. I am writing a paper on female bodybuilders for my sports ethics class this semester and older female bodybuilders do NOT look like this. Most of the women in these pictures have never been bodybuilders.
Aneroxic or not, these pictures still beg the question; why do these women work so hard to turn themselves into these ghastly monstrosities?
