		<description>In addition to my above comment;
much in the same way as movies are given classifications because the content is inappropriate or may be misinterpreted by young children, I think this joke deserves a rating of PG or M. The fact that adults (and I&#039;m assuming the first 3 comments were posted by adults), misinterpret this joke I find absolutely amazing.

		<description>Oh dear, it&#039;s getting to the stage where a person can&#039;t even say words like Muslim, black or negro without being accused of racism. This joke is in no way racist... not even slightly but it is very funny. The fact that the joke involves a Muslim is incidental, the humour is derived from the hypocrisy of the teacher.

I have a very clear idea in my head what racism really is; racism usually involves some sort of generalisation and/or I believe there needs to be malice or intent. If I were to say; &quot;that man is as black as the ace of spades&quot;, would I be racist?... absolutely not. It is simply an innocent observation. I didn’t say he should be ostracised because of it. Now I tend to agree with a-brit and Fred (above comments), but to quote Fred:

&quot;And Arab Muslims are certainly outsiders in Western culture.

Serious Truth: it would be best for all concerned if they stayed that way for a long, long time.
&quot;

...that is certainly racist. It says that a group of people should be alienated based on their race or religion... That, I disagree with.

As a footnote however:
I maintain this joke is not racist BUT like a lot of things in life there is an appropriate time and place. For example: I think it would be inappropriate to tell this joke to a classroom of young impressionable children. Reason being is that this joke does use racial dimorphism as tool in deriving humour. I think juxtaposing race and humour would send the message to a child that different races are funny pure and simple, which is a complete misinterpretation of the joke.

		<description>Hehehehe.... funny ! Well, a little bit anyway.

And for the morons in the peanut gallery who always have RACE on the brain - the joke is not racist - not even close. Islam is not a race - it&#039;s a religion.

The method of this joke is called &quot;making fun of the outsider&quot;. It&#039;s a universal characteristic of humor, happens all over the world. Every culture does it. If you can&#039;t laugh at it, it just means you have no sense of humor.
