Some restaurants won’t let you in without a tie. I think clothing should be optional, but a tie can really make an occasion quite festive (with the exception of aunt Toosie… nothing can help her).

Aunt Tootsie had a problem back in the 70s where she’d just forget to dress in the morning and would show up at the diner in her house frock and bloomers. Didnt help that she’d recently given birth so she’d end up lactating all over the counter top. Thank goodness that Mr Stephanopolis who ran the diner had a thing for large women or he could have caused some real problems.
