The C64 actually had a 1200 baud modem. I have one sitting in a box in my garage and I used to BBS with it.

the data center pics remind me of when I had a contract at Microsoft… very clean, BIG data centers…

The C64 couldn’t handle 28.8Kb connection… it had a 300b modem… you could type faster than it could display text.
