I once worked for a company that had a LAN room similar to this on.  They had never traced a cable back, but had been unhooking once to run new ones in their place.  Over the course of 4 years it created a rat’s nest of wires so severe it cost thousands of dollars for a company to come in and rewire it over a 4 day weekend.
