Today’s tech toy is designed for those of you that are big into digital media. From movies, to music, to pictures we all have more media than we know what to do with most of the time.  My wife has an Apple MacBook Pro and I run everything of a Sony desktop, but combined we have gigs of media we want to hold onto.  The HP EX485 MediaSmart Home Server is what i am going to pick up to handle all my storage and backup needs.  The server comes with a 750GB drive out of the box and is expandable to 9 terabytes!  Not only will it work with any Windows based machine, but it will also support Apple backups using Time machine which makes this server great for everything I won.  The best part is the price is under $500 so the cot to get started is only a little more than buying a large external hard drive.
