New York City has changed drastically over the last 30 years. These images are a NYC I never saw since I was 3 at the time.

You know, I bet that if you could identify the locations of each of these photos, you could find that a lot of NYC is relatively unchanged.
There are some large changes, of course – Manhattan has a lot more tall buildings, now, I’m sure. But I suspect a lot of the older sections of the city haven’t changed in major detail.
Wow… this pictures make NY look nice back in 78… Anyone who knows about NY back then knows it was a drug capital and having a terrible time with crime. This pictures are tame compared to other pictures from that ERA.
Richard Pryor in pic 14???
Definitely looks like the hot dog carts have changed over the years…
Looks like the same shithole to me. NY was a suckfest full of idiots then, just like it is today.
hey now – i work in NY and I think I provide a wonderful service here fro many many people
The 15th photo from the top (the one above the girls crossing the street, below “Richard Pryor”) is actually a photo of Montreal in or around 1978… !
It’s the corner of St-Jacques st. and McGill st.… You can see the Place Ville-Marie building in the back and the Square Victoria metro station in the foreground!!
Here it is today:

nice catch — that is very impressive.
I’ll leave it up so people from up north can enjoy a shot.
