Drug abuse is one of those unnecessary sufferings that a person brings on himself or herself. The sad thing is that it is usually a one-way street to a life of despair and hopelessness once a person makes the mistake of taking the first step. Worst of all, it is the younger generation that are more susceptible to the influences of peers and harmful company to try it because it is ‘cool’. Only upon sinking into this quicksand, that one realizes that it is too late to cry about it. Fortunately, there are drug rehab centers in most countries that are setup to help those who want to give their lives a fighting chance. The drug treatment programmes offered by these centers will go some way to help drug abusers but a very tough struggle still awaits those who wants to break free.

It is a sombre reminder not to take life for granted and to not fall into the trap of needlessly throwing our lives away. Drug rehab is always a possible alternative for those who have made that mistake and hopefully, through perseverance, they will succeed in breaking free and claiming their lives back.
